Development of bimetallic anti-corrosion coating technology

In the period from November 2, 2023 to June 30, 2024, Izotechnik sp. z o.o. implemented a project entitled:

„Development of bimetallic anti-corrosion coating technology produced by an additive metallurgical synergy process and its implementation in the production of high-pressure heat exchangers”

The aim of the project was to carry out development work aimed at developing the final form of a new technology for coating carbon steel with bimetallic anti-corrosion coatings with a thickness of 8 mm using stainless tape in a flux shield. As part of the research, a prototype of the shell and bottom of a high-pressure heat exchanger covered with a coating with unique anti-corrosion properties on a Polish scale was built, and full technical documentation of the new technology was prepared. Development work was carried out from November 2, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

In order to implement the new technology, the Company's plant in Płock invested in machinery, including the acquisition of m.in laser cutting machine, ultrasonic flaw detector, resistance annealing machine, welding positioner/manipulator and mobile machine tool.

As a direct result of the project, Izotechnik will implement the production of high-pressure heat exchangers with a significantly extended service life compared to the products previously available on the Polish market by 2024. The exchangers will be purchased by refineries. The effects of introducing new products to the market will be the following benefits: technological (less frequent technological downtime for replacement of the exchanger with a new one), ecological (lower consumption of materials and raw materials for production, lower emission of pollutants related to production), and economic (the cost of the exchanger spread over a much longer period of its use).
